Grammar Checker
Find grammar, spelling, and clarity issues.
About Grammar Checker
Grammar Checker reads your text and lists the grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity problems it finds, each with the original snippet, the suggested fix, and a one-line explanation in the language of your text. It works for English and Indonesian, so a thesis abstract in English and its Indonesian translation can both be checked in the same place. Nothing is changed behind your back: every fix has an Apply fix button, and Apply all is still your decision after reading the list. The checker fixes real errors and leaves your voice, technical terms, and citations alone.
How to Use Grammar Checker
Paste your text
Paste a paragraph or section into the box. A few hundred words per pass keeps the explanations focused.
Run the check
Click Check text. Each finding appears as a card: the type (Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation, Clarity), the original snippet struck through, the suggested fix, and why.
Apply the fixes you agree with
Click Apply fix on a card to change that snippet in your text, or Apply all for the whole list. The text box above always holds your current version.
Copy the result
Click Copy corrected text once you are happy. Nothing is applied to your document until you paste it there yourself.
Why Use Grammar Checker: Common Use Cases
Thesis and journal submissions
The pass that catches subject-verb agreement, article, and punctuation slips before a reviewer anchors on them instead of your argument.
Second-language writing
Writing in English as a second language gets explanations, not just corrections, so the same mistake stops appearing in later drafts.
Abstracts and cover letters
Short high-stakes text where one typo costs credibility, checked in seconds before sending.
Indonesian academic writing
Indonesian drafts get the same treatment, with explanations in Indonesian, which desktop spellcheckers rarely manage for formal register.

Tips for Grammar Checker
Read the explanation before applying: like every AI proofreader, it occasionally flags correct sentences, especially names and technical terms. Your judgment is the final filter.
Check, apply, then check again. A second pass often catches punctuation left behind by the first round of edits.
For heavy rewrites rather than error fixes, use Paraphrasing Tool first, then check the result here.
Count the words of the final version with Word Counter when your abstract has a hard limit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is every suggestion correct?
No checker, AI or otherwise, is right all the time. Each card shows the snippet, the fix, and the reason so you can judge it. Apply the ones you agree with and skip the rest; correct sentences are sometimes flagged, especially around names and field-specific terms.
Does it check Indonesian as well as English?
Yes. The same check runs for both, and the explanations come back in the language of your text, Indonesian explanations for Indonesian writing.
Will it rewrite my style?
The instructions fix errors only: grammar, spelling, punctuation, and genuine clarity problems. Your sentence choices, technical terms, and citations are left alone unless they are actually wrong.
What is the Clarity category?
Sentences that are grammatical but hard to parse, like double negatives or a subject separated from its verb by a long clause. The fix usually splits or shortens the sentence.
Is my text stored anywhere?
The text is sent over HTTPS to the AI engine behind this site for the check itself and is not stored afterwards. Nothing is written back into your document until you paste the result yourself.
Why did the check fail?
The AI engine may be busy or unreachable. The error message says so; wait a moment and click Check text again. Your text stays in the box.
