At KiloToolbox, protecting your privacy is not an afterthought—it is the foundational design principle of everything we build.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how KiloToolbox ("we", "our", or "the platform") processes files and data when you use our website at https://kilotoolbox.com. We do not require account creation, do not ask for personal details (such as names, addresses, or phone numbers), and never sell or monetize user data.

2. Browser vs. Server Processing

We classify all tools into two operational categories so you always know where your data lives:

  • Client-Side (In-Browser) Processing: The majority of our PDF, image, text, generator, and converter tools run 100% locally on your computer or mobile device using JavaScript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 Canvas. Your files are never uploaded to any remote server. Your network bandwidth is preserved, and your documents remain entirely in your control.
  • Server-Side Processing: Certain resource-intensive or specialized tasks—such as AI background removal, OCR on complex scanned documents, high-fidelity office conversions (via LibreOffice), and video transcoding (via FFmpeg)—require backend server execution. These tools securely transmit your file over an encrypted HTTPS connection directly to our dedicated worker environment.

3. Data Retention & Automatic Deletion

For tools requiring server-side execution, we enforce strict, automated data retention limits:

  • 15-Minute Expiry: All uploaded files and converted outputs are stored temporarily in isolated job storage. They are scheduled for permanent automated deletion 15 minutes after upload or processing completion.
  • No File Logging or Inspection: Our servers do not inspect, index, analyze, or back up your document contents. Staff members do not have access to your private files.
  • Immediate Memory Unlink: Temporary streaming data is unlinked from server memory immediately after response delivery.

4. Cookies & Web Analytics

We do not use advertising tracking cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking profiles. We may use privacy-preserving, cookieless edge metrics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) solely to monitor aggregate bandwidth usage, page response times, and server health.

5. Security of Transmission

All interactions between your browser and KiloToolbox are strictly encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 via HTTPS) to ensure third parties cannot intercept your data.
